In October 1999 we did a tour of Peru

We landed in Lima proceeding southwards towards Arequipa, then over to Cusco, side trip to the Amazon at Puerto Maldonado, then south to Puno

We go by train south from Cusco

We reach the lake.  Highest navigable lake in the world

Uros Floating Islands

These are man made island, masses of reeds bound together and floating on the water of Lake Titicaca

You can see the straw or reed like material making up the "ground"
